Mushroom Species

VM1008 Pleurotus ostreatus var. florida

Very popular medium-size mushroom strain ability to produce larger as well as smaller mushrooms very good quality for the fresh market

good cultivation results at temperatures above 20°C

can be picked as small or large mushrooms numerous carpophores

This summer strain forms numerous groups of primordia, distributed over the entire substrate.

Spawn on grain for commercial production of mushrooms | 3rd generation of mycelium | 1 or 2 kg bag. Mycelium inoculated from mother spawn liquid or mother spawn on grain. Certified axenic mycelium on sterilized grain, meant for spawning of compost/substrate. Each portion is double-tested and axenicly packed in a sealed bag.

They develop into medium size (average 5 cm diam.), funnel-shaped fruitbodies with elongated stems. Their colour varies, with increasing light intensity and temperature, from light-beige to greyish blue. The shelf life of the mushrooms is inversely proportional to the cultivation temperature. This pleurotus ostreatus strain grows particularly well in tropical to subtropical conditions, if the minimum night time temperature. Picking: these fruiting bodies can be picked as large pale mushrooms or as numerous, small fruiting bodies. When picked small, the blocks have a lower total yield but the fruiting bodies have a longer shelf life.prerequisite of 22°C is respected to induce primordia formation.

*Primordia are induced by a shock. For most mushroom species, this is done with a thermal shock, which is defined by the minimum temperature during the day-night cycle.
